Each region of Poland has its own local customs, these are just a few.


Touron
Wedding Customs
-(NG) After the wedding ceremony, the couple proceeds to the Brides home where they are greeted with gifts of salt and bread (usually a cake). They also receive a blessing from the Bride's Father or both parents. Easter Customs
Christmas Customs
Oplatek
One of the highlights of traditional Christmas Eve celebrations in Polish households. The origin of this custom is said to be taken from the unconsecrated wafers given at communion mass. On Christmas Eve, each person breaks off a piece of te Oplatek and shares it with the other participants, asking for forgiveness or giving them a blessing for the coming year.

Touron
A mythical animal that is part bull. A man dresses up in a fur skin and goes around with a carved wooden head, he pesters people untill they appease it with a drink or some food.
